Students and schools from across Florida to receive scholarships and monetary donations for winning billboard and television PSA entries
Orlando - Healthy Kids Executive Director Rich Robleto will announce the winners of the statewide Florida KidCare Act-Out for Health PSA contest [www.actoutforhealth.net] at Florida Hospital on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
The contest challenged middle and high school students to create :30 second television public service announcements or billboard designs promoting Florida KidCare, the state and federally supported health insurance program for children under the age of 19.
After receiving more than 700 entries from across the state, seven billboard advertisements and seven television public service announcements created by students will be unveiled as the top winners during the awards ceremony. More than 20 students are confirmed to attend the ceremony with their parents, teachers and principal.
During the event, the contest winners will receive up to $5,000 in scholarships and prizes, and their schools will receive a monetary donation up to $2,500 from the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation.
**Editor's Note - Three of the winning entries were submitted by students from the Orlando area, who are confirmed to attend the ceremony.
