Sick Kids at Florida Children's Hospital Given Chance to Shop for Their Moms and Dads

ORLANDO, Fla., June 1, 2006 - Florida Children's Hospital became a mall of sorts for its pediatric patients who can't leave the hospital.  The Children's Wish Foundation hosted a shopping day for these special patients who want to give something to their parents even though they are sick.  The children "shopped" in the hospital's playroom for items donated by the Children's Wish Foundation.  There was everything from beauty kits to ties to sunglasses for the patient's moms and dads.  The children also made special cards for their parents during the event to honor Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Florida Children's Hospital is a 154-bed "hospital within a hospital" that allows Florida Hospital to deliver a complete range of dedicated and specialized pediatric health services for younger patients, while benefiting from the expertise of specialized departments throughout the hospital.  Our healing environment is nature inspired and designed to enhance the well-being and speedy recovery of our pediatric patients.
