Operating Room Expansion Helps Meet Growing Surgical Demands at Florida Hospital Celebration Health

CELEBRATION, Fla., Feb. 13, 2009 -  As the Central Florida area continues to become known as a medical destination, more and more patients are coming to the area for their medical needs.  To create more capacity for the surgeons at Florida Hospital Celebration Health, who operate on patients from around the world, the hospital has expanded its operating suite.

On Thursday, Florida Hospital Celebration Health debuted four new operating rooms, each measuring at more than 700 square feet, designed specifically for minimally invasive and robotic surgeries.  The hospital also expanded the surgical waiting room, as well as the pre-operative and recovery areas.

The construction project at Florida Hospital Celebration Health took 12 months to complete at a cost of $16 million.  Patients will undergo surgeries in the new operating rooms beginning on Feb. 16, 2009.  With these new rooms, Florida Hospital Celebration Health now has 11 total operating rooms.
