MicheLee Puppets Brings More Than Just Sock Puppets to Patients at Florida Hospital for Children

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov 9, 2011 - Patients and staff alike were all smiles when the MicheLee Puppet team recently donated 150 unique sock puppets to Florida Hospital for Children.  From a hula dancing puppet to a blushing bride complete with a veil, both patients and staff had a blast choosing which puppet they wanted to adorn.

"Florida Hospital donated our first puppets 25 years ago," said Denise Lucich of MicheLee Puppets.  "This is our way of giving back to the hospital that helped us get started.  We just hope to bring smiles to kids through our puppets."

To celebrate their 25th anniversary, MicheLee Puppets recruited volunteers to assemble sock puppets to donate to Florida Hospital for Children. Over a period of three days, MicheLee Puppets gathered 100 volunteers to craft these imaginative puppets for the kids before bringing them to donate.

"We are so grateful to have community partners like MicheLee Puppets," said Traci Woods, director of family experience at Florida Hospital for Children. "It is so important that our patients have the opportunity to play and laugh during their time in the hospital. These sock puppets will definitely bring some smiles."

MicheLee Puppets was formed in 1985 with the mission to empower lives through the art of puppetry.
