Local Golfers Tee Off to Benefit Florida Hospital Diabetes Center

ORLANDO, Fla. Oct. 9, 2008 - FORE!  Local amateur and professional golfers will soon be teeing off for the 11th annual Florida Hospital Diabetes Center Pro/Am Golf Tournament at Shingle Creek Golf Club.  All proceeds from this year's event will directly benefit the Florida Hospital Diabetes Center, which helps thousands of patients with diabetes every year.  Each team will be comprised of four amateur players and one professional player, who will come together to swing their clubs and raise awareness and money to help those affected by diabetes.

Each year, more than 8,800 new patients are treated at the Florida Hospital Diabetes Center.  The Center provides comprehensive care, lifestyle education, and training and research for patients.  For the last eight years, Florida Hospital has been recognized as one of America's Best Hospitals for its Endocrinology and Diabetes services by U.S. News & World Report.
