Patient Experience:
- Patient zone: located in the center of the room, this area includes a 42" interactive GetWellNetwork television. The patient also has an unobstructed view of the outside to provide a healing environment.
- Caregiver zone: the area between the door and the bed, which allows for easy access to the patient without interfering with visitors.
- Family zone: where the family/visitors can sit with the patient, and can stay overnight on the expandable sofa. This zone is closest to the large windows.
- The GetWellNetwork: an interactive program where patients can surf the Web, learn about their medical condition and communicate with staff. This service is available on PCU floors (6-8) on the 42" flat screen TV in each room.
Two family waiting rooms on each patient floor:
- Large waiting rooms: located near guest elevators; feature views of Lake Estelle and a flat screen television
- Small waiting rooms: in the middle of nursing units; offer a quiet gathering space for meditation and private discussions
Healing Artwork:
- Mural: for more than six months, artist Eric Grohe spent thousands of hours painting the incredible three-story, 40' x 24' mural entitled "In the Beginning God Created." The masterpiece illustrates the seven days of creation along with nature that is found within one mile of Florida Hospital Orlando. Because the mural is surrounded by windows, a special paint was used so that it will not fade from sunlight.
- Mosaic: a large, approximately 200,000-piece mosaic entitled "The Touch of the Master's Hand" graces the Chapel. This artwork was created in Italy, and an extremely thorough decision-making process took place before each individual piece was positioned.
- Other: more than 500 pieces of themed photography depicting nature are placed throughout the tower
