Florida Hospital Physicians and Trainers Help Bowl Teams Stay in the Game

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 27, 2007 - With four prestigious college football teams in town gearing up for their post-season play, someone has to help the stars of Saturday afternoon stay healthy.  Florida Hospital physicians and sports rehabilitation trainers are doing just that.  These medical professionals are assisting the University of Florida, the University of Michigan, Boston College, and Michigan State football team staff physicians and providing medical equipment while the teams compete in both the Champs Sports Bowl and Capitol One Bowl in Orlando.

Doctors and athletic trainers are at all practices and are available during the duration of the teams' visits to ensure everyone -- players, coaches, and support staff -- stays healthy before and during their big games.

Florida Hospital also provides state-of-the-art medical technology for the teams to use while playing in the Champs Sports Bowl and Capitol One Bowl.  The hospital will have a mobile digital imaging machine, which gives team physicians an instant look inside the body of the players if they are injured before or during the game.

Every year, when college footballs teams travel to Orlando for their Bowl Games, Florida Hospital physicians and athletic trainers are lined up to help team doctors with everything from a minor cough to sports injuries.

Florida Hospital is the official hospital for the Champs Sports Bowl and Capitol One Bowl games as well as University of Central Florida Athletics, the Orlando Magic, and Track Shack Grand Prix Series.
