The Universe Within Touring Company and Florida Hospital Partner in Our Body: Through a Doctor's Eyes Exhibit

Popular Orlando Science Center Exhibit Enhanced by Advanced Medical Science

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 22, 2007 - The Universe Within Touring Company, exhibitors of the world-renowned human anatomy display Our Body: The Universe Within, and Florida Hospital, one of the nation's largest hospitals, today announced a partnership to increase awareness and education of human anatomy and the effects of disease. The partnership is the first of its kind between an anatomy exhibit and a healthcare provider. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospital systems in the country, Florida Hospital maintains internationally recognized programs in cardiology, cancer, women's medicine, neurology, diabetes, and orthopaedics - topics which will now be key educational areas within the Our Body exhibit that will be seen "through a doctor's eyes."

"We can't think of a more natural partnership than this with Florida Hospital," said Marcus Corwin, Chief Executive Officer, The Universe Within Touring Company. "Bringing Florida Hospital's advanced medical technologies alongside our fine anatomical specimens increases the relevancy of our exhibit to specific health issues people have and to their daily life decisions."

Beginning today, the widely attended anatomy exhibit at the Orlando Science Center will include displays of advanced medical breakthroughs from Florida Hospital. Technology that will be featured includes the da Vinci® Surgical System, a highly accurate robot-assisted surgeon's tool; a laparoscopy device outfitted with a tiny camera that allows surgeons to avoid making major incisions during surgery; and "moon suits" that allow exhibit-goers to experience what an orthopaedic surgeon wears during surgery.

In addition, new content integrated with the exhibit's anatomical specimens will include multiple displays of medical imaging advances, including a GE-provided 4-D ultrasound that produces real-time, life-like images of babies during women's pregnancies.

As part of the partnership, The Universe Within Touring Company will make a $10,000 donation to Florida Hospital that will benefit education and research activities at the Nicholson Center for Surgical Advancement, one of the nation's foremost training facilities for surgeons, and Florida Hospital's Department of Translational Research, an internationally known laboratory whose mission is to accelerate "bench-to-bedside" application of medical science for real patient benefit.

"The Our Body: The Universe Within exhibit is a very unique and compassionate learning space for people," said Terry Newmyer, Chief Development Officer, Florida Hospital Foundation. "It is our hope that our additions, providing visitors with a view of the very tools their doctors use, will motivate them to proactively maintain and preserve their own body and health."

Also as part of the partnership, Florida Hospital physicians and other medical professionals will participate in the exhibit's new lecture series, covering topics such as neonatal development, neuro-oncology, and the CREATION Health program, part of the new trend toward proactive healthy lifestyles.  Florida Hospital dietician Sherri Flynt, co-author of the best-seller "SuperSized Kids," will also speak on the childhood obesity epidemic in the United States.  For more information about the Our Body: Through a Doctor's Eyes speaker series, please visit www.osc.org.
