Florida Hospital Kissimmee CEO Celebrates 50 Years with the Organization

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 18, 2008 - In today's evolving workforce, it is especially common for individuals to change employers numerous times throughout their careers. However, Bill Haupt is an exception, as he recently celebrated 50 years of loyalty to one local organization - Florida Hospital.

Haupt began his first Florida Hospital job in 1958, working at the transportation and information desk part-time during high school and college. Now, he is CEO & Administrator of Florida Hospital Kissimmee. Throughout his half-century journey, Haupt has experienced countless transformations and has made significant contributions to Florida Hospital. Among these monumental milestones, he witnessed the first CT scan and MRI, founded the CentraHealth Network and helped shape Florida Hospital into the nation's largest Medicare provider. In addition, Haupt has held several leadership roles such as Assistant Director of Human Resources, Director of Safety, CEO of three Adventist Health System hospitals and CEO of Centra Care. Haupt's most recent project is building the new Florida Hospital Kissimmee Outpatient Tower, which is due to finish construction in about one year.

During his time with Florida Hospital, Haupt graduated from Southern Adventist University and also spent a year in Vietnam, serving his country in the U.S. Army. Today, he resides in Apopka, Fla. with his wife, Jill. He has two daughters, Geri and Kimberly, and four grandsons. Several of Haupt's family members have been employed by Florida Hospital, including his wife, two daughters, mother, brother and sister-in-law. Haupt claims that Florida Hospital has been his life, and has helped him grow personally and professionally.

"My roots and commitment to Florida Hospital run deep," Haupt said. "The hospital's mission - extending the healing ministry of Christ - is a major motivator for me to remain with the organization, and the vision to be the best we can be always makes me proud."
