Florida Hospital Employee Awarded Christian Service Award

ORLANDO, Fla., March 6, 2007 - Recently at its annual mission conference, Adventist Health System (AHS) honored Florida Hospital employee Clifford Coll with its Christian Service Award.  The award is given to people who are outstanding Christian examples and who provide compassionate and untiring service to others.

"Clifford is a prime example of the staff at Florida Hospital," said Randy Haffner, Florida Hospital administrator. "He embodies the spirit of our hospital and our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ to all who pass through our doors.  We are honored to have him at Florida Hospital, and we are proud of him and this amazing accomplishment."

For more than 16 years, Coll has been ministering in Florida Hospital Orlando, first as a housekeeper, and since 2002, as a greeter.  Each day, he provides information, directions, and even emotional support to patients, visitors, and staff at the hospital.

Florida Hospital is owned by the Adventist Health System.  The more than 1,800-bed system, comprised of seven hospitals, 30 outpatient facilities, and 16 Centra Care walk-in medical centers, has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals in the country for the past eight years.  Owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Florida Hospital is a Christian, faith-based hospital that believes in extending the healing ministry of Christ to all patients and providing total care - mind, body and spirit.
