ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 7, 2007 - Florida Hospital Cancer Institute is pleased to welcome Vijay Reddy, M.D., Ph.D., as the newest member of the Florida Center for Cellular Therapy. Reddy will serve as co-medical director with John Edwards, M.D.
Prior to joining Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, Reddy spent nine years as an attending physician at Shands Hospital, University of Florida College of Medicine. Reddy was most recently appointed as Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine and remains as adjunct faculty.
Prior to his arrival at the University of Florida, Reddy completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Toronto in Blood and Marrow Transplantation and a research fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. Reddy also holds a doctorate in Immunology from Memorial University in Newfoundland.
Reddy is on the Editorial Board of Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and sits on several industry panels. Reddy is widely published in the New English Journal of Medicine, Blood, Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Experimental Hematology, Transplantation, and the Journal of Stem Cells.
