ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 29, 2007 - Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) has named a new director of radiation oncology, John Barton. Barton assumed the position in December 2006.
Prior to this appointment, Barton served as the Chief Clinical Physicist and Clinical Operations Director for the Radiation Oncology Department at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute. He has also served as Medical Physicist with the Radiation Oncology Department at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute.
"Throughout his career, John Barton has been a wonderful leader at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute," said Leslie Aldrich, administrator at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute. "John has passion for patient care and commitment to quality that will distinguish the administration at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute."
Barton received his bachelor's degree in science from the College of William and Mary and his master's degree in engineering from the University of Virginia.
