Florida Hospital Apopka Offers New Dining Option for Patients, Visitors, and Staff with Opening of Z-Café

APOPKA, Fla., April 12, 2007 - Florida Hospital Apopka is now home to a new café that is open to patients, visitors, employees, and others in the community.  Located in the new main entrance to the hospital, Z-Café offers more than 50 different coffees from around the world in addition to sandwiches, salads, soups, an extensive vegetarian selection, and much more.

The food and drinks offered at the café align with Florida Hospital's mission of "whole-person health" that includes nutrition and healthy eating.  Patrons can eat in the café or at tables and chairs in the healing gardens now located at Florida Hospital Apopka.

"The opening of Z-Café at Florida Hospital Apopka is a wonderful, much-needed addition to our hospital for our patients, visitors, employees, and other guests," said Verbelee Nielsen-Swanson, administrator at Florida Hospital Apopka. "Z-Café has a real focus on fresh, healthy food that aligns with our mission at Florida Hospital."

Z-Café, owned by David and Haemi Kahan, will be open on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Z-Café also has a location in the Orlando Public Library, and will soon open another location in the new Leesburg Public Library.  Z-Café roasts all of its own coffees, and its brand name "Z-Coffee" offers one of the largest selections of coffees in the United States.

In September, Florida Hospital Apopka completed its new main entrance and a 42,000-square-foot medical office building that will lead it toward its goal of becoming a full-service hospital by 2020.  Florida Hospital Apopka relies on the generous donations of the community to continue to provide world-class care and to expand to meet the growing needs of Central Florida.
