ORLANDO, Fla., July 13, 2007 - Disney's Animal Kingdom brought animals from the theme park to the Florida Children's Hospital, at Florida Hospital Orlando, to make dreams come true for our little patients. Animals including an owl, opossum, and snake helped make this a magical day for the children. Young patients were able to learn that Disney uses procedures to care for its exotic and native animals similar to those the children receive at the hospital. Children received goody bags and give-aways, and even had a special visit from an Animal Kingdom character.
Florida Children's Hospital is a 138 specialty bed "hospital within a hospital" that allows Florida Hospital to deliver a complete range of dedicated pediatric health services to younger patients, who benefit from the expertise of specialized departments throughout the hospital. Florida Children's Hospital is served by Kids' Docs - the largest panel of pediatric specialists in Orlando. More than 50,000 children are seen annually, and one of every two Central Florida residents chooses Florida Hospital as their health care provider.
