ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 17, 2009 - Florida Hospital East Orlando broke ground on a new Medical Surgical Plaza last fall, and has been building the foundation to better serve the community and provide access for more patients. Now, a significant milestone is taking place, as the three-story, 60,000-square-foot Medical Office Building and Ambulatory Surgical Center will be "topped out" on February, 17. On Tuesday morning, construction crews will complete the framework of the building, followed by a special ceremony. During the celebration, the traditional tree will be placed on top of the facility, and employees and physicians will have an opportunity to sign a steel beam, the final piece to the framework. Join us to share in the festivities during this landmark event!
The Medical Surgical Plaza at Florida Hospital East Orlando will house an Ambulatory Surgery Center, custom-designed Medical Suites for physician offices and two covered patient drop-off areas. The construction is managed by Lillibridge, a health care real estate firm focused exclusively on medical buildings and serving thousands of physicians nationwide.
Florida Hospital East Orlando was founded in 1941 and has now evolved into a 224-bed facility. As one of the eight Florida Hospital campuses, Florida Hospital East Orlando celebrated the completion of a 200,000 square-foot expansion project in February 2007. The new, innovative patient tower allows accessibility to more outpatient services, features 80 new private patient rooms and was designed to enhance the patient experience.
