Dr. Sajeel Chowdhary Joins Neuro-Oncology Program

Florida Hospital Cancer Institute Welcomes Dr. Sajeel Chowdhary to Neuro-Oncology Program

 

ORLANDO, Fla., July 17, 2009 - Dr. Sajeel Chowdhary recently joined Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) and will serve as Program Director for the neuro-oncology program. He will use his expertise as one of the only Board Certified Neuro-Oncologists in the state of Florida to help develop a multi-disciplinary neuro-oncology program.

Dr. Chowdhary's clinical interests include both adult and pediatric brain and spinal tumors. He is active in several ongoing clinical trial studies, and has published numerous articles and scientific abstracts in industry journals and peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Chowdhary has extensive training and educational background in both neurology and neuro-oncology. He earned his degree from King Edward Medical College at Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. He then began his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where he completed his neurology residency. Then, Dr. Chowdhary did a two-year fellowship in neuro-oncology at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Most recently before joining FHCI, Dr. Chowdhary practiced as a Board Certified Neuro-Oncologist at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Fla. He also held appointments as a professor at University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital.
