Deadline Extended for Be Healthy Program

Event Date:

Deadline Extended for Be Healthy Program Created By Florida Hospital, Orlando Magic and Wholesome Tummies

WHAT:            A few weeks ago, Orlando Magic Community Ambassador Bo Outlaw and STUFF donned
chef hats and aprons and competed to put together the healthiest lunch. This
demonstration was to get the community excited about a one-of-a-kind program called
Be Healthy that Florida Hospital, Orlando Magic and Wholesome Tummies teamed up to
create. This initiative was "cooked up" to encourage children to eat healthier lunches
and learn about the importance of good nutrition, in an effort to combat the rise of
obesity. As part of the pilot program, the organizations will be providing free lunches for
the remainder of the semester to one deserving elementary class in Central Florida.

Classrooms at private elementary schools in Orange and Seminole counties are eligible
to apply to win this exciting opportunity for a semester of free healthy lunches
and special nutrition consultation services. Teachers can apply to win
at www.healthy100.org or www.wholesometummies.com. Due to an overwhelming
response, the deadline has been extended to Friday, January 22, 2010 to ensure all
interested teachers have the chance to apply.
