KISSIMMEE, Fla., Nov. 9, 2008 - Today, community members had the opportunity to meet the country's top professional bass anglers at the Ninth Annual Angling Against Cancer Tournament to benefit Florida Hospital Cancer Institute at Florida Hospital Celebration Health. The free event featured live entertainment, food vendors, the Florida's Blood Centers Blood Bank, a tournament fish weigh-in, and a drawing for a 2009 Ranger fishing boat and Ranger Trailer with 150 Evinrude E-Tec motor ($32,000 total value). Bass angler greats like Terry Seagraves, Roland Martin, Peter Thliveros, Casey Ashley and Paul Elias, were present as well.
Angling Against Cancer is an Osceola County based organization dedicated to saving the lives of those affected by cancer. More than $400,000 has been raised from this fun-filled event. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit cancer research at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute located at Florida Hospital Celebration Health. This event will continue to be instrumental in Angling Against Cancer's effort to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
