Cardiovascular Surgery Program
- At Florida Hospital, our Cardiothoracic surgery program is one of the largest in the country. Since 1969, our cardiovascular surgery program has grown to be the largest in Florida and fourth in the nation.
- Since our official registry began in 1981, our surgeons have performed over 82,000 open heart surgeries.
- On average we perform over 1,600 adult cardiac surgeries annually.
Valve Surgery
- Florida Hospital has vast experience in the repair and replacement of heart valves. Between 2004 and 2006, we repaired and replaced over 1,500 valves.

Arrhythmia and Ablation Center
- The Arrhythmia and Ablation Center at Florida Hospital has a team of physicians and support staff that has the expertise and knowledge to treat common and complex forms of atrial fibrillation and heart arrhythmia issues.
- The Arrhythmia and Ablation Center at Florida Hospital has a robotic catheter remote control system, know as Stereotaxis, available to treat patients with Atrial Fibrillation (A Fib). This system allows the physician to more accurately map the location of the area to be ablated by using computerized, magnetic navigation instead of real time imaging through real-time x-rays (fluoroscopy).
Community Care
Heart Failure Clinic
- The Heart Failure Clinic is an outpatient clinic that serves patients who are unable to afford follow-up cardiac care. The clinic is designed to provide patients with the tools to manage their disease and keep them out of the hospital.
- The Heart Failure clinic is staffed by a cardiology nurse practitioner who assists in providing medication, on-going education and consistent medical care.
